At Bo Tree Psychology we offer evidence based psychological therapy for a breadth of psychological, emotional and relational difficulties. We work with young people and adults across the lifespan and have clinics in South and East London.
WHO IS THERAPY FOR?
Everyone feels low or worried at some point in their life and sometimes these feelings will go away on their own. However for lots of different reasons, these feelings can persist and this can often make it difficult to carry on with day to day life.
Therapy can help you understand why you feel the way you do and support you to work out a way towards feeling better.
WHY CHOOSE A CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST?
Clinical Psychologists are leaders in providing the highest quality therapy, aiming to reduce psychological distress and promote psychological well-being in clients.
Clinical Psychologists are always trained to doctorate level through courses that focus on both research and practice. It is a legal requirement that Clinical Psychologists register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), meaning that the title “Clinical Psychologist” ensures peace of mind that you are working with someone trained to the highest level.
Clinical Psychologists have specialist knowledge of many different treatment approaches and are trained to help people with a wide range of different problems. This means that therapy is bespoke and driven by the client, rather than trying to fit the client into a specific model.
With our knowledge, skills and experience in delivering evidence-based psychotherapy, we can help you:
- understand what's causing your problems and develop an understanding of your inner world
- become aware of the things that might be keeping you stuck, making things worse and stopping you from achieving your goals
- gain a clearer understanding of difficult emotions and learn different ways of reacting to situations
- make effective and meaningful changes in your life
- feel more confident in coping with life's challenges
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
When you contact us, we will aim to get back to you on the same day for a brief discussion over the phone about what you would like to work on in therapy. We will arrange a time to meet for an initial assessment with one of our experienced practitioners.
During your first meeting you will consider with your practitioner if they are able to offer the support you need and whether you think you can work well together. There is no obligation to arrange any further sessions at this point. If you do decide to meet again, the next session will be used to plan what you want to focus on and you will start your therapeutic work.
It’s difficult to know exactly how many sessions each individual will have. Some people benefit from a couple of sessions, whilst others might decide to opt for longer term therapy.
